About You We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, flexible, and compassionate individual to join our dynamic child care team as a School Age Care Team Lead at our Kids World School Age Care program for children ages 5-12 at Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House located at 2131 Renfrew Street, Vancouver. About the Position The School Age Care Team Lead will be responsible for the leadership, supervision, and administration of the Kids World school age program licensed for 76 spaces for children ages 5-12. This program drops off and picks up from three neighbourhood schools and this position will involve walking to these schools and/or driving if possible. Class 4 Drivers license or ability to obtain will be an asset. This program fosters a positive, and emergent learning environment with a focus on the social and emotional well being of all children. Working closely with the Nootka Team Lead and the School Age Care Coordinator, this position plays an integral part in the winter, spring and summer programming in which our Kids World and Nootka programs combine. We are an inclusive, multicultural, dynamic and collaborative child care setting which includes working with other educators and with our other School Age Care Programs, and School Age Care Coordinator to plan and implement a progressive and innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, BC Early Learning Framework in concert with the values of FHNH. Other responsibilities include developing strong and collaborative relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues. We are a Learning Centre (with amazing opportunities for professional development and for collaborative efforts with other educators and with the community as a whole. Skills & Qualifications Minimum Responsible Adult for School Age program, ECE or degree in relevant area is an asset Minimum 2 years Supervisory/Team Lead experience working in a childcare facility or similar programs Experience and passion working with children of all abilities Ability to implement emergent programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Early Learning Framework (BC) and able to lead the team in implementing its components Strength in building and maintaining supportive and collaborative partnerships with families and children Ability to nurture the strengths and talents of the staff team and build a team committed to achieving common goals Experience in effectively leading and inspiring staff, volunteers, and practicum students Positive attitude, flexibility, adaptability, sensitivity, creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor Passion for ongoing professional development and growth Ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment Must be able to demonstrate strong communication, planning, organizational, and leadership skills Hours This is a regular full time position at 35hrs/week. It includes working direct service Monday to Friday 7:30-9:00am and 2:15 to 6:00pm plus meeting and admin time with occasional evening meetings. Shifts will vary during professional development days, spring, summer and winter breaks. Salary & Benefits Competitive benefit package including group medical and Municipal Pension Plan, 3 weeks vacation, sick time, and exceptional professional development opportunities. Hourly Salary: $26.19-$28.05/hour depending on experience. This position qualifies for the additional $6.00 WE for any candidate with ECE.
