Overview Lepp Farm Market is seeking an experienced and dedicated Meat Manager to oversee the daily operations of the meat department. This leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the meat and deli department. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage the team, optimize operations, maintain high-quality products, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The Meat Manager will inspire their team to work with energy and drive, lead by example, and uphold Lepp Farm Markets core values while driving sales and departmental success. Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to ensure team development and engagement. Empower team members to take ownership of tasks, delegate effectively, and optimize departmental workflow. Lead daily huddles to motivate the team, communicate priorities, and reinforce core values. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Ensure a high-energy, customer-focused environment where guests consistently receive friendly, knowledgeable service. Train and guide team members to create 10/10 guest experiences, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns professionally. Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to elevate the department experience. Department Operations & Profitability Oversee meat and deli operations, including product preparation, inventory management, and scheduling. Ensure all products meet quality standards, shelves are stocked, and the department is clean, organized, and sanitary. Plan production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and guest demand. Manage for profitability by controlling labor costs, reducing waste, and analyzing product performance. Negotiate with vendors and maintain strong supplier relationships. Monitor sales metrics, margin, and departmental scorecards to ensure goals are met or exceeded. Maximizing Sales & Promotions Develop pricing strategies and promotions in collaboration with marketing and store management. Execute departmental strategies that drive sales growth and enhance guest loyalty, including monthly specials for the Lepps Rewards Program. Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to ensure team development and engagement. Empower team members to take ownership of tasks, delegate effectively, and optimize departmental workflow. Lead daily huddles to motivate the team, communicate priorities, and reinforce core values. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Meat Cutting Certification preferred. 23 years of supervisory or management experience in a grocery, retail, or butcher shop environment. Extensive knowledge of meat processing, deli operations, and food safety standards. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse guests. Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills. Proficiency with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Meat cutting certification (preferred). Working Conditions Must lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Work with knives, cleavers, and power tools. Some work in refrigerated and freezer areas, as well as office spaces. Extensive standing, walking, and hands-on work required.
