Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Associate to join our team. This role involves close collaboration with physicians and clinical investigators to support medical imaging research projects through data analysis, interpretation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in statistical programming and data management, with a passion for advancing scientific knowledge. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative research initiatives within a collaborative environment. Duties Draft and submit new research ethics applications and manage renewals and amendments for ongoing studies. Perform statistical analysis for various research projects using appropriate methodologies. Collaborate with investigators to develop research grant proposals and applications. Draft and edit abstracts, manuscripts, and conference presentations. Collaborate with medical staff, fellows, residents, and students to advance research initiatives. Organize and participate in regular research meetings and academic discussions. Coordinate data collection, documentation, and regulatory requirements for research studies. Liaise with industry sponsors and other external partners to manage deliverables. Assist with organizing research-related events such as conferences and presentations. Track internal deadlines and liaise with the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine to ensure compliance. Support the development and implementation of new research projects and initiatives. Qualifications Education & Professional Designation Completion of a Masters degree in health sciences, life sciences, medical imaging, or related field. Previous experience in a research setting is highly desirable. International Medical Graduates (IMGs) , candidates with global academic or clinical experience are encouraged to apply. Knowledge, skills and abilities Strong interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of research principles, ethics submissions, and grant application processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in R, Python, and SAS for data analysis and statistical modeling. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
