Description Job Summary This Senior Systems RAMS Manager position is for the specialised coordination of civil safety assurance activities as they pertain to the RSSOM Ontario Line project. As Senior RAMS Manager Civil Work RAMS Coordinator, you will review and oversee the RAMS work generated by the Civil Works contractors hired by Metrolinx [the CA] providing them guidance to the Connect6ix defined RAM and functional safety processes. This role is based in Toronto, Canada . Responsibilities include: Lead RAM and Functional Safety coordination meetings between Connect6ix, the civil contractors, and also amongst the consortium of North Civil Contractors, a key forum for resolving technical issues and establishing uniform project approaches Act as the primary liaison between Connect 6ix and civil contractors for all RAM, functional safety related topics Facilitates hazard/safety requirement transfers between Connect6ix and the civil contractors Ensure consistent application of safety processes by the civil contractors as described by the Connect6ix RAM and Safety Plans, via reviews of RAM and Functional Safety documentation provided by the civil works contractors You will also be expected to work closely with the System Safety Manager, Chief Safety Officer, and Project RAMS delivery teams, the Senior Civil RAMS Manager ensures civil inputs are fully integrated into safety submissions required for Consent to Operate Key Responsibilities Civil RAMS Leadership Coordinate RAMS activities for civil systems in accordance with project budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Coordinate and instruct on the V&V governance strategies for civil subsystems. Oversee and verify preparation and issuance of RAMS documentation and safety assessments (ISA) coordination. Coordinate and ensure civil system safety and reliability requirements are identified, communicated, and satisfied. Stakeholder Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact between Connect 6ix and civil contractors for RAMS and safety matters. Coordinate hazard transfers, safety requirement transfers, and issue resolution across civil stakeholders. Lead the Civil Coordination Meeting to support alignment, problemsolving, and consistent application of projectwide approaches. Collaborate with Safety Officers and civil contractor safety teams to maintain uniform safety processes. Integration with System Assurance Work closely with Project RAMS delivery teams to ensure cohesive integration of civil RAMS activities across disciplines. Support the System Safety Manager and Chief Safety Officer in preparing systemlevel safety submissions, including those required for Consent to Operate. Ensure civil safety analyses are incorporated into the Ontario Line assurance framework through proactive engagement with Civil Project Companies. Planning, Monitoring & Risk Management Manage RAMS workload planning, including updates, deviation analysis, and resource forecasting. Align RAMS schedules with the project schedule to maintain continuity of delivery. Identify cost, schedule, technical, and resource risks early and propose recovery actions. Estimate RAMS activities and support. CrossFunctional Support Provide RAMS guidance to product, signalling, and system engineering teams. Support internal and external audits, reviews, and assurance activities as required. Minimum Requirements Min 8 years of work experience in RAMS System Engineering Working knowledge of CENELEC Standards for Safety Certification for Railways, EN-50126, EN-50128, EN-50129. Postgraduate studied in Systems engineering, Safety Engineering, or Reliability Engineering are considered an asset. Minimum 5+ years of RAMS experience, ideally within rail, transit, or large civil infrastructure projects/Systems Integration Projects Demonstrated experience with RAMS methodologies, Safety Management, Independent Validation experience a plus. Experience with Multistakeholder coordination on complex infrastructure projects Education & Qualification Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Ontario P.Eng highly desirable.
