Robots & Pencils is seeking a Lead MobileDeveloper to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering a modern, unified digital experience platform for a large, multi-venue hospitality and entertainment organization. You will assist the Delivery Lead and the Tech Lead in coordinating the work across mobile teams. This is a senior, handson technical leadership role embedded in delivery. You will lead iOS and/or Android mobile development while contributing directly to implementation. The platform spans mobile, web, and kiosk experiences and integrates a complex ecosystem of legacy systems, thirdparty services, a headless CMS, customer data platform, and a scalable API and middleware layer built on MuleSoft. This is a highvisibility, enterprisescale program. Success requires strong mobile engineering fundamentals, comfort operating in cloudnative environments, and a product mindset focused on quality, outcomes, and rapid iteration. You will collaborate closely with experience designers, solution architects, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver endtoend product slices that enable personalized guest journeys, realtime itinerary orchestration, and seamless crossproperty experiences. This role collaborates with team members across CT and EET and requires availability during core hours of 9:00 a.m.3:00 p.m. ET. Travel to the US for client meetings is required. Key Responsibilities Mobile Engineering Leadership Lead iOS and Android development efforts across a complex, multiapplication ecosystem Set technical direction and best practices for mobile architecture, performance, and maintainability Serve as a senior technical decisionmaker within the mobile domain Balance handson development with technical leadership and mentorship Ensure mobile solutions align with broader platform and architectural standards Design, build, and maintain highquality mobile applications using Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) Implement new features supporting personalized guest experiences and realtime workflows Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs, MuleSoft middleware, CMS, and data platforms Ensure secure, performant, and scalable mobile implementations Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation Cross-Platform & System Integration Collaborate with backend and platform teams integrating mobile apps with: MuleSoftbased API and middleware layer Headless CMS (Contentful) Customer data and personalization platforms Contribute to system design discussions involving mobile, web, kiosk, and cloud services Identify integration risks, performance constraints, and opportunities for improvement Product Delivery & Collaboration Work closely with experience designers to translate UX into highquality mobile implementations Partner with architects and engineers to deliver cohesive, endtoend product slices Participate in planning, estimation, and prioritization activities Provide clear technical input to support product and delivery decisionsHelp teams navigate ambiguity through proactive problemsolving and communication Quality, Performance & Continuous Improvement Champion mobile performance, reliability, and accessibility best practices Identify and address technical debt and scalability concernsPromote iterative improvement through feedback, retrospectives, and experimentation Support CI/CD practices and modern mobile delivery workflows Required Skills & Experience Seniorlevel experience building and shipping production mobile applications Experience leading mobile development efforts on complex, integrated platforms Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, networking, and state management Experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs and distributed systems Comfort working in cloudnative and modern webconnected environments Proven ability to operate in large, multiteam delivery programs Technology Environment Mobile: iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin) Platform & Integration: MuleSoft, Contentful, Customer Data Platforms Web & Infrastructure: Vercel, cloudnative services Collaborative and lowego Works effectively across disciplines and prioritizes team success.
