Job Details Were a mediumsized brewery with a lot of moving parts and a lot of valuable equipment. Were looking for a Maintenance Manager who keeps our operation reliable, safe, and predictable. Youll be the person who brings structure to maintenance, leads our small team, and protects our assets across brewing, packaging, utilities, and the building. You do not need a Red Seal, Millwright, or Power Engineer ticket for this role. We care more about your ability to lead, plan, troubleshoot, and follow through. Reports to: Director of Operations Team you lead: 2 parttime Maintenance Technicians (plus contractors/vendors as needed) Systems: We run a CMMS and expect you to use it daily to plan, track, and improve maintenance. What Youll Do Keep the brewery running (reliability and responsiveness) Own daytoday maintenance priorities: preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and breakdown response. Reduce unplanned downtime by finding patterns, fixing root causes, and tightening standards. Build a maintenance cadence that production can plan around (weekly scheduling, clear shutdown windows, fast communication). Run the CMMS like it matters (because it does) Use the CMMS to manage work orders, PM schedules, asset registers, parts usage, and reporting. Improve work order quality: clear problem statements, good notes, closeout codes, and useful equipment history. Maintain practical documentation: PM checklists, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and vendor service records. Lead and coach a small team (2 parttime techs) Set weekly priorities and make sure the right work gets done at the right time. Coach technicians on troubleshooting approach, workmanship, safety habits, and documentation. Build coverage plans that make sense for a small team (smart scheduling, crosstraining, and contractor support when needed). Create a culture of ownership: leave it better than you found it. Own contractors, vendors, parts, and budget Bring in contractors when required, define scope clearly, manage timelines, and verify quality. Manage the maintenance budget: spend responsibly, prevent surprise costs, and justify whats needed. Build a practical spare parts approach: identify critical spares, set min/max levels, and reduce emergency orders. Protect people, product, and our facilities Make safety nonnegotiable: LOTO, safe work practices, and contractor safety onsite. Partner with Quality to ensure maintenance work protects product integrity (clean work, correct lubricants/materials, contamination controls). Support continuous improvement with Production: uptime, efficiency, and fewer repeat issues. Look after major assets like an owner would Steward equipment: care, lifecycle planning, and recommendations for upgrades/replacement. Support commissioning and handover for new or modified equipment so its maintainable (training and documentation included). Equipment Youll Oversee Brewing: mills, mash/lauter, kettle/whirlpool, heat exchanger, pumps, valves, controls Cellar: fermenters/brite tanks, glycol, CIP, filtration Packaging: canning/bottling line (as applicable), conveyors, labeler, packer Utilities/facility: compressors, HVAC, electrical distribution, water systems, building systems Controls/automation: PLC/HMI basics, sensors, instrumentation troubleshooting coordination What Were Looking For (No ticket required) 5+ years in maintenance leadership or a senior maintenance role with clear ownership of outcomes in a manufacturing environment (food/bev is a plus). Strong practical mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and good judgment under pressure. Proven experience building/improving PM programs, planning/scheduling, and reliability habits. Comfortable managing a small team, contractors, budgets, and parts/inventory. Solid ability to use a CMMS to drive discipline and visibility.
