Reporting to the Director of Preconstruction, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for the preparation of compliant and comprehensive construction estimates, proposal submissions, and documentation related to various types of civil infrastructure major projects. During the bid preparation process, this individual manages the development of construction cost estimates. What Youll Do Here Overall responsibility and management of construction cost estimate development, bid submissions, and proposal execution strategies. Produce detailed cost estimates and proposals that align with overall business objectives and financial requirements. Compile inputs from various sources to produce organized proposals, detailed cost estimates, and P6 schedules. Collaborate with a team of construction estimators and support personnel to produce the required proposal deliverables. Review and comment on customer RFP documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts. Develop a strategic and competitive construction approach/execution plan for each proposal. Identify potential project risks and ensure necessary precautions are implemented to manage exposure. Work together with Operations, Project personnel, Business Development, and Senior Management. Utilize estimating software to organize estimates per internal guidelines and customer requirements. Review and approve estimates and resource requirements developed by estimators for each discipline. Prepare project schedules, resource loading, productivity assessments, and cash flows. Create technical, commercial, marketing, and promotional documents. Chair required proposal initiation, status, and approval meetings with Senior Management. Present proposal and estimate details to Senior Management to obtain required approvals. Present or turn over awarded proposal information and estimate details to the Project Team members. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Serve as the main contact for various consultants, engineering firms, and subcontractors. Review engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation to fully understand project scope requirements and associated construction risk elements. Prepare and document cost estimates following the Companys estimating policies and procedures. Obtain and analyze subtrade quotations and liaison with subcontractors. Review estimates, including labor hours, material costs, tools & equipment, rentals, materials, and subcontractors. Successfully complete various safety and job training courses/programs. Other duties as required. What You Bring To The Team 20 years of experience within the civil construction industry. Strong estimating background on large capital or civil engineering construction projects. Project Management experience and/or field experience on large construction projects. Understanding of both design/build and buildtospecification approaches. Strong understanding of contract language, legal terms, and conditions. Exceptional leadership and organizational skills. Strong communication skills oral and written. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Knowledge of AACE guidelines and estimating concepts. Familiarity with unionized trade agreements and wage schedules. P. Eng., CET, or equivalent industry experience. Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Primavera P6, and/or construction estimating software. Ability to work in a multidisciplined team environment including vendors, subcontractors, and clients. Background checks required. Site visits and occasional travel will be required. Valid drivers license. Benefits Reason for Vacancy: Replacement Pay Range: $160,000 - $200,000 Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills, and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
