Role Summary The Staff Software Engineer, ES&D Low Voltage leads the design, implementation, and validation of embedded software for battery and energy management systems in nextgeneration electric vehicles, focusing on reliability, advanced feature development, and crossfunctional collaboration. The role includes driving highquality software architectures, technical reviews, and testdriven development for both low and high voltage systems, contributing to scalable, safetycritical solutions across hardware and software domains. Responsibilities Implement and validate embedded software for battery and energy management systems. Develop features for low and high voltage systems, including power and current distribution, DC/DC and operational state controls, fault detection and recovery, range estimation, battery thermal controls and management, and advanced battery state estimations (e.g., cell balancing, stateofcharge, stateofhealth, stateofpower). Lead technical meetings with peers and leadership to review feature design and performance. Lead code reviews and provide technical feedback to drive traceable and highquality solutions. Guide teams with their test plans to achieve design & validation goals. Design scalable software architectures with a focus on embedded system reliability and performance. Write automated tests for the software components, using unit, SIL/HIL. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (hardware, systems, functional safety, and vehicle integration) to ensure safety, reliability, and standards compliance across low and high voltage systems. Qualifications Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent engineering or sciences. 6+ years experience in embedded programming in C or C++. Proficient in testdriven development with developerdriven coverage from different test targets (HIL/SIL/Unit). 4+ years experience developing code for low or high voltage components in an integrated system. 4+ years experience designing or developing BMS algorithms or equivalent. Experience troubleshooting complex field issues with developerdriven field data analytics. Experience working with advanced 32bit multicore microcontrollers. Experience working with CAN, LIN, UDS, DoIP communication interfaces. Experience working in a RealTime Operating Systems (RTOS) environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Pay Disclosure Salary range for Vancouver applicants: $137,300 - $181,890 CAD. The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges that RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education, and location.
