Your Opportunity In the role of Senior Civil Engineer you will lead the design delivery of land development, municipal and transportation projects for our expanding client list. You will manage relationships with private and public sector clients, provide exceptional customer service, and support Stantecs Canada West Community Development teams as opportunities arise. You will primarily work in the British Columbia region, collaborating with provincial and municipal authorities and helping grow the business. Key Responsibilities Lead the civil design for infill, greenfield, and brownfield land development, municipal, transportation and public space projects of high complexity. Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team on land development projects. Review and prepare designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, and erosion control design. Complete due diligence reports and land reviews providing knowledge on overall servicing for potential land purchases for our client base. Provide senior engineering support for overall servicing in support of Planning applications/Land Use Designations. Liaise with municipalities and other approving authorities to advocate for client objectives. Build and foster relationships with clients, municipal, and provincial approving authorities. Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior and intermediate technical staff. Contribute and provide guidance in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders. Complete field reviews and EOR reviews as necessary during the construction administration phase of own projects. Participate in quality assurance and quality control review on own projects and projects of peers. Assist in the development of new standards and processes for the design team. Contribute to the development of proposals and the development of project scope and fees through a design focused lens. Contribute to business planning and client development strategies. Your Capabilities and Credentials Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC. Thorough understanding of land development including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, roadway, lot design, and general stormwater engineering concepts. Strong understanding of municipal utility & roadway design & engineering. Experience in the province of British Columbia is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of the life cycle of land development projects from the land review stage through to permitting, construction & closeout. Selfmotivated with strong written and verbal communication skills. Solutionoriented problem solver. Collaborative team player capable of creative and critical thinking. Experience managing multiple projects, clients and deliverables in a flexible work environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BlueBeam Revu. Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer with EGBC. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Position Details Position will primarily work in an office setting. Stantec supports a hybrid schedule from home, with field work that may involve exposure to inclement weather. Pay Range Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario: $111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for parttime roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
