Organization & Position Summary Watson Goepel LLP is a growing and dynamic multi-service law firm based in downtown Vancouver, with additional offices located in West Vancouver and Calgary, Alberta. We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Family law group in our Downtown Office. This is a full-time, in-office position. Duties & Responsibilities of Position - Drafting and preparing letters, memos, correspondence, and court documents. - Communicating with clients and opposing counsel. - Scheduling court dates for JCCs, trials, chambers hearings, examinations for discovery, settlement meetings, mediations, and any other relevant meeting. - Preparing and filing court forms. - Saving all electronic correspondence. - Maintaining lawyers calendars and client meetings. - Maintaining lawyers BF systems, organizing electronic and paper-based files. - Preparing, sending, and following up on client accounts. - Opening and closing client files.Performing other administrative duties as required. The Ideal Candidate has - Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail. - Excellent time-management skills. - Adequate discretion to deal with confidential information. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Required & Preferred Qualifications - Successful completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal program. - Minimum 3 years of LAA experience in Family law OR 5+ years of LAA experience in civil litigation. - Strong technical proficiency in MS Office applications. - Strong proficiency with BC Online and Divorcemate. - Experience with Elite is preferred. - Experience with iManage is preferred. Job Details - In-person, permanent, full-time 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. - Additional Overtime pay available (if required) - Salary range: $60,000 - $73,000 annually.
