Reports To: Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent / Horticulturalist Wage: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience) Required Certification: Valid 5-Year British Columbia Pesticide Applicators Certificate Job Type: Full-Time Seasonal About the Role Kokanee Springs Resort is seeking a certified Golf Course Spray Technician to perform all turf-related pesticide and fertilizer applications under the Integrated Pest Management Act of British Columbia. This role is essential for maintaining turf health and ensuring exceptional playing conditions. Youll also assist with general golf course maintenance as part of the grounds team. Responsibilities - Apply pesticides and fertilizers safely and accurately across the golf course. - Maintain and calibrate application equipment; ensure proper cleaning and functionality. - Keep complete and accurate records of all applications. - Maintain inventory of pesticides, fertilizers, and adjuvants. - Train and supervise staff assisting with fertility applications. - Report any irregularities in turf quality to the Superintendent. - Assist with general golf course maintenance tasks, including mowing, bunker care, landscaping, and seasonal preparations. Qualifications - Valid BC Pesticide Applicators Certificate (mandatory). - Previous experience in turf management, including disease and nutrient deficiency identification. - Ability to operate and maintain liquid and granular application equipment. - Physically capable of lifting 25 kg bags and performing demanding tasks outdoors in all weather conditions. - Ability to work early mornings, split shifts, and weekends. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). - Valid drivers license and reliable transportation. - Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills. - Steel-toe chemical-resistant boots required; safety gear provided.
