Hays is partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for an Interior Designer to join their team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, committing to high quality innovative design on all. As an Interior Designer you will be working across commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types. This is a great opportunity to join a multifaceted and agile team with opportunity for growth. *this is an in office roleResponsibilitiesWorking with clients to determine needs and coordinate construction specific details, advise client on space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, interior finish selections and coordination.Detailing of custom millwork pieces for construction plans and review details of technical drawings or specifications.Review of shop drawings during construction for compliance with working drawings. Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and trades.Estimate project budget costs for use during Design Development and present design alternatives and solutions to client for approval.Render design ideas in form of paste-ups or drawings.Draw detailed or technical illustrations. Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents.Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Designer.QualificationsDiploma in Interior Designer from an accredited institution, with 5+ years of Interior Design experience.Must be proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp.Prior experience working on a variety of projects, ideally with extensive experience in hospitality and multifamily residential design.Experience of preparation of construction drawings and specifications.Hardworking, strong attention to detail and excellent graphic communication and presentation skills.The successful candidate will receive a base salary of $60K-$80K (dependent on experience) + bonus (based on performance) extended benefits, paid parking and flexible work hours.
