Risk Analyst Proficient (IT Risk / Capital Markets)Location: Halifax, NS 1597 Bedford Hwy (34 days onsite per week)Duration: 12 Months (March 1, 2026 April 30, 2027)Role OverviewWe are seeking a Risk Analyst to support Capital Markets Technology Risk & Controls. This role will contribute to risk monitoring, data reconciliation, regulatory reporting support, and system-based modeling activities within an enterprise risk environment.The position combines hands-on data analysis, access control reconciliation, and reporting responsibilities in a collaborative 15-person team.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct modeling and data configuration activities within enterprise risk systems (QRM or similar)Generate cash flow outputs and risk-related reporting for regulatory and internal purposesAssist with financial data mapping and source feed logicReconcile access controls for Capital Markets systems against approved entitlementsInvestigate potential access control violations and identify root causesPrepare written reports and communicate findings to stakeholdersExtract and analyze data using Excel and SQLSupport ongoing enhancements to risk data architecture and reporting processesRequired QualificationsUndergraduate degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Finance)24 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, financial systems, or IT riskStrong Excel proficiency (advanced formulas, data analysis)Experience constructing complex SQL queriesKnowledge of financial data mapping and relational databasesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work with ambiguous inputs and clarify requirementsNice to HaveKnowledge of market, credit, or liquidity risk measurementExperience with enterprise risk systems (e.g., QRM)IT controls and risk management experienceFamiliarity with regulatory reporting requirements Ideal Candidate ProfileA detail-oriented analyst with strong Excel and SQL skills who is comfortable working in a structured risk and controls environment, investigating access control issues, and supporting financial risk system reporting.Note: We use AI tools to: obtain basic information, detect plagiarism, false employment history or references, categorize your skills, and do an initial match with job posting.
