Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Legal Administrative Assistant located in Vancouver, BC. The Legal Administrative Assistant will perform tasks such as preparing and reviewing legal documents, maintaining organized filing systems, scheduling appointments, handling client communications, and supporting lawyers with casework. The individual will also assist with overall administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office. Responsibilities Performing LAA work from file opening to closing. Drafting simple pleadings, including application records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books. Drafting correspondence. Filing documents with court registries. Communicating with opposing counsel, experts and clients. Maintaining BF limitation dates. The ideal candidate would possess: 3+ years of LAA experience Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with clients and all levels of staff. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent attention to detail, organized and proactive, able to multi-task and handle changing priorities. Work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Word and ability to learn new software and technology quickly. Knowledge of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules and ability to interpret Rules and Acts. Experience with ProLaw an asset.
