Position Summary: The Construction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.The ideal candidate would have 1530+ years of progressive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) roles. Their background typically includes progression through Journeyman Electrician / Instrument Technician, Foreman / Superintendent / Lead, E&I Coordinator / Construction Coordinator / Commissioning Coordinator, and experience on large industrial projects ranging from $50MM to multi-billion-dollar scopes. Core technical experience is a must and includes strong hands-on and coordination experience with electrical power distribution (LV, MV, HV), instrumentation and controls, DCS / SIS systems (loop checks, C&E testing, commissioning support), substations, EHT, temp power, and shutdowns. The candidate should have direct involvement in construction execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup, as well as turnover and handover to Operations. They should also be able to review and redline drawings, manage deficiencies, and verify system readiness. In terms of execution and coordination capabilities, the candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate E&I scope across disciplines, including engineering, construction, commissioning, vendors, and operations. Experience working with EPC contractors, owner teams, multiple subcontractors, and craft groups is essential. They should be comfortable managing work across active construction sites, mod yards, and shutdowns/turnarounds. A strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, schedule integration, and constraint management is required. Exposure to Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) or structured workface planning is highly desirable. The candidate should be able to track progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues impacting cost or schedule. Safety, quality, and compliance are paramount. The candidate should have demonstrated safety leadership in high-risk E&I environments and experience enforcing QA/QC standards, codes, and regulatory requirements, as well as client and corporate safety programs. A history of supporting or leading projects with strong safety performance is a must. The successful candidate will be a field-credible leader with the ability to direct contractors and trades, interface confidently with engineering and project management, and communicate clearly with operations during commissioning and handover. They should be capable of mentoring junior staff and supporting workforce development, with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset to troubleshoot issues in real-time.
