Job Description

Monitor 2026-EHC-009 1 Full Time Eagle Heart Centre Position The Monitor is responsible for supervising family visits at the Family Learning Place in a safe, culturally respectful, and traumainformed manner. This role ensures the wellbeing of children during visits, supports positive family interactions, and documents observations accurately for internal records and ministry reporting. Monitors uphold Eagle Heart Centres mission by providing a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment while maintaining firm boundaries, safety standards, and compliance with program policies. Education Minimum Grade 12 or GED equivalent; postsecondary education in Human Services, Youth Care, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, or a related field is an asset. Experience working with children, families, or in a human services environment an asset. Specialized training in traumainformed practice, cultural safety, child protection, or family violence prevention considered a strong asset. Qualifications - Demonstrated commitment to Eagle Heart Centres mission, vision, and values, with proven ability to apply cultural safety, Indigenous awareness, and traumainformed practices in daily work. - Working knowledge of cognitive disabilities (FASD, ABI, developmental delays) and the ability to support clients impacted by intergenerational trauma, addictions, and housing instability. - Awareness of mental health, domestic violence, and community barriers affecting adults with complex needs, with the capacity to navigate healthcare, justice, housing, and social service systems on behalf of clients. - Clear and respectful communication skills for engaging clients, families, cultural supports, staff, and community partners. - Ability to respond to crises with calm deescalation, implement safety planning, and apply solutionfocused problem solving in highstress environments. - Strong organizational skills, with accuracy in documentation, reporting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management databases. - Ability to maintain confidentiality, uphold professional boundaries, exercise sound judgment, and elevate issues appropriately. - Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability in a highvolume, clientfocused environment, with resilience and selfcare strategies to sustain work in emotionally demanding situations. - Valid CPR/First Aid Certification. - Current Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector). - Valid Drivers License and insurable vehicle an asset.
