Position: Administrator Department: Ttqet Administration Hours: 35 hours, 8am-4pm weekdays, extra hours may be necessary Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience Location: Ttqet Administration Office Closing Date: Open until filled ABOUT US The Ttqet First Nation is a First Nations government located in the Central Interior-Fraser Canyon region, near Lillooet, B.C. We are the Pegpglha of the Sttimc Nation. The Creator placed us here and that connection to our land can never be broken. The traditional ways, values and laws of our ancestors are held in the Sttimc language and are written on the land. Our Elders have passed them down in the stories to the children and grandchildren since the beginning. We are committed to working together to build our community in a good way that is based on the teachings of our ancestors. POSITION SUMMARY The Administrator is responsible for assisting Chief and Council in the overall management of the community, government, economic development, capital, operating, program, and financial affairs of the Titqet and for the management of the day-to-day Administration affairs of the Community, including financial, operating, program development and delivery, and Community member services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES - Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Titqet policies, standards and procedures, and as directed by the Chief and Council. - Maintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of the Titqet. - Adheres to Ttqets conflict of interest policy when administering Administration programs, services and budgets. - Assists Chief and Council in the implementation of a Governance Strategy and Plan. - Provides information and support to Chief and Council in the development of the Agenda for Chief and Council meetings and General Community meetings, as requested. - Attends and provides technical and policy advice and guidance at Council meetings and General Community Meetings. - Provides regular and special reports to Chief and Council. - Ensures that Council directives and resolutions are communicated and implemented. - Keeps the Council informed of sensitive and important internal and external matters and information that may have an effect on the operation of the Titqet and its entities. - Oversees the management and administration of the financial affairs of the Ttqet Administration. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Business or related Discipline OR Equivalent Formal Related Post Secondary Education and Experience. - Prefer applicable Post-secondary Courses or formal training, to include Aboriginal Governance, Accounting I Budgeting, Management I Supervision, Strategic Planning, Team Building, and Human Resource Management. - Minimum of six to eight (68) years related experience in local government administration with at least three (3) years experience in a senior management position. - Experience in the planning, development and management of community infrastructure services and projects. - Demonstrated experience in staff and budget management, formal planning, funding, and proposal writing, policy development, and program management. - Experience in capital projects. - Prefer experience as an Administrator. - Prefer experience in policy development and the funding and management of Community Programs and Services. - Strong cultural sensitivity and understanding.
