Employer: Sunshine Coast Treatment Services Sector: Health Care Posting Date: February 2, 2026 Closing Date: Feb 18, 2026 Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District Salary Or Wage: $29 to $31.50 per hour Start Date: As soon as possible Job Type: Part or Full Time List of Requirements - Experienced office assistant - Strong organizational skills are essential - Proficient in the English language with the ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in person - Ability to communicate effectively with patients, resolve problems with empathy and professionalism - Understand and apply confidentiality in all patient interactions - Maintain a courteous and respectful demeanour - Adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards - Collaborate effectively with other staff members and external healthcare professionals to ensure smooth office interactions - Ability to adapt to different tasks, changing schedules and accommodate patient needs - Competence in using phone and faxing systems as well as using scheduling software - Is or willing to become familiar with patient management software (Med Access) - Satisfactory criminal record check List of Duties - Support physicians, nurses and the counsellor in providing evidence based medical and psychosocial care to patients with addictions who are seeking recovery and wellness - Present as a welcoming resource at the entry level phase of the program - Ensure efficient patient management processing while maintaining compassion and empathy - Maintain a clean and accessible medical office - Cultivate confident relationships with new and existing patients - Act as a liaison between providers, patients and visitors - Welcome visitors and patients at the front desk, gather personal information as well as courteously answer phone calls and communicate with healthcare professionals as required - Confirm and make new appointments to facilitate an organized schedule - Manage patient medical records including updating personal demographics through various ways of data collection and entered into electronic records bracket (EMR) - Complete tasks as directed by healthcare team, organize investigations and communicate to patients - Collect and evaluate biological (urine) test for toxicology at Point of Care (on-site), record results and prepare samples for external laboratory evaluation as directed - Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order supplies - Manage and maintain a clean, safe environment and general upkeep while ensuring the office complies with health and safety standards - Participate in regular office meetings to discuss patient care and office management - Ability to be flexible in learning and acquiring new skills when the need arises - Must be able to perform these duties two to four days a week - At Sunshine Coast Treatment Services we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services, this is only possible with a strong team approach to patient care which includes exceptional administrative staff - We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Medical Office Administrator with strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail and administrative experience in a medical environment - As the face of our organization you will be engaged in a collaborative medical environment, treating patients with dignity from the moment they walk in the door How to Apply To apply for this job please use one of the methods listed below: Lift's Employment Services posts this position as a free service for the community.
