The Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring that daily pharmacy dispensary operations are carried out safely, accurately and efficiently to support the timely delivery of CareRx pharmacy services. This role upholds all internal policies and external regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of operational and clinical quality. Working in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager, the incumbent will act as the Subject Matter Expert on regulatory and compliance matters, billing initiatives, medication incident investigations and data analysis. The Assistant Pharmacy Manager, QA leads a team of direct reports and is responsible for ensuring adherence to operational processes to support the departmental goals and people management activities. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities Manages and supports employees in areas related to regulatory and compliance requirements, billing initiatives, and controlled substances policy adherence. Serves as a subject matter expert on College of Pharmacists of BC regulatory standards, providing operational guidance and best practice learnings. Oversees the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of medication reviews, ensuring they are completed and maintained as required. Provides compliancefocused training to registered staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of services. Investigates medication incident reports by conducting detailed evaluations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions. Collaborates with the Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Operations to develop and implement corrective action plans that prevent incident recurrence. Communicates incident findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to facility staff and relevant stakeholders. Actively problemsolves and participates in conflict resolution within the team, including contributing to performance management discussions. Acts as the first point of contact for departmental inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate support. Trains new employees and provides progress updates to the Pharmacy Manager. Participates in and leads hiring, onboarding, coordination, and training of new team members, including offsite support staff. Documents payroll and HRrelated items for direct reports, as applicable. Contributes to key managerial responsibilities such as payroll oversight, scheduling, hiring, coaching, and constructive resolution of workplace issues. Operational & Project Support Provides project support as required. Supports pharmacy operations within the scope of their designation, as needed. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Registration as a Pharmacist in good standing with a provincial licensing College of Pharmacist of BC Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist. Previous experience in LongTerm Care pharmacy is an asset. Proven knowledge of Provincial regulatory standards and College requirements. 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience is an asset. Compensation Range: $118,000 - $131,000. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidates credentials and experience. Location: This is onsite role at our 8525-8501 Commerce Court, Burnaby, BC location. Working Hours: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm). Hours and days can vary based on operational needs.
