SUMMARY OF POSITION: Pacific Reach Properties is currently looking to fill a new Energy Specialist position at the earliest. The Energy Specialist will be responsible for analyzing energy consumption of the assigned properties and report on Energy Utilization Index and other Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The successful candidate helps Energy Manager with creating baseline, stablishing a benchmark and monitoring a weather normalized model for the buildings. Based on experience energy Specialist can look into Building Automation System and recommend energy conservation measures, administer the continuous optimization program or lead the natural gas conservation program. RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of the key responsibilities: Review consumption histories, detect anomalies and provide corrective initiatives Assist with the development of utility budgets together with ongoing tracking and variance management Monitor weather patterns and statistics to allow forecasting of energy usage Create baseline and benchmark and keep track of anomalies Commission energy audits to attain a database of infrastructure/energy usage for each building together with energy conservation/savings opportunities Identify projects for reducing natural gas consumption Support energy manager in devise a strategy for reducing energy costs and environmental impact resulting from energy consumption Promote a culture of sustainability and educate other staff QUALIFICATIONS: A college or university degree in energy management from UBC, BCIT, Yorkville, NYIT, Douglas College, CEM or CEMIT Proficiency in Excel and Outlook Experience in energy management Ability to write a technical report Being a good team player and communicate ideas simply and thoroughly.
