EcoCan EnvironmentalLocations: Fort St. John (BC), Whitehorse (YT), Yellowknife (NT) Work Model: Remote/Hybrid (field presence required as needed)Role OverviewEcoCan is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Coordinator to lead and execute environmental projects in close collaboration with First Nation clients, with a primary focus on reclamation and remediation within the mining, oil and gas sector.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage environmental projects with a strong emphasis on First Nation engagementLead and support reclamation and remediation programsPlan and execute Phase II and Phase III Environmental Site AssessmentsEnsure compliance with all health and safety regulations, directives, and SOPsLiaise with clients, regulators, contractors, and Indigenous partnersSupport field execution, reporting, scheduling, and regulatory complianceApply and interpret oil and gas regulatory requirements across BC, Yukon, and the NWTQualifications & ExperienceBachelors Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation, or a related disciplineConsulting experience in the oil and gas sector (required)Demonstrated experience in reclamation and remediation5+ years of relevant environmental experience (exceptional candidates with slightly less experience may be considered)Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks in BC, Yukon, and NWTValid Class 5 drivers licenseAbility to work independently in remote and northern environmentsWhat Were Looking ForProven experience working with First Nation communities and partnersA professional who can execute projects, not just coordinate themSomeone comfortable with accountability, field realities, and decision-makingWhy EcoCan Meaningful environmental work with real-world impactStrong Indigenous partnership focusFlexible remote/hybrid work modelOpportunity to shape and lead projects, not just follow procedures
