Type: Full-Time Travel: Up to 75% during peak season About aerialPLOT aerialPLOT is a web-based platform designed for agricultural research and on-farm evaluations. We automate the extraction of data from aerial imagery at operational scale, reducing the reliance on manual collection and subjectivity. The platform gives researchers, agronomists, and ag businesses a way to analyze, manage, and share crop data in real time across the growing season. Our analytical tools are built to help users learn more every trip to the field. Were headquartered in Troy, Ohio, with a team of digital agronomists, data scientists, drone pilots, and software developers operating across the U.S. Were now looking to grow into Canada, starting with Saskatchewan. The Role Youll start at aerialPLOT by learning how to fly drones using our platform and how to process that data using our methodologies and workflows. At the same time, youll be learning how clients use this data for crop development, product evaluation, and on-farm research. Your frontline fieldwork is a critical part of our approach to agriculture research. After getting up to speed, youll move into a hybrid role that combines field operations, agronomic support, and business development helping to expand our Canadian client base while keeping client success at the centre of what you do. Day to Day Field collection Plan and execute UAV missions at research farms throughout the season, following aerialPLOT SOPs to collect calibrated imagery across a range of crops. Data processing and analysis Use our workflow and geospatial analytics platform to process UAV imagery, extract digital crop metrics, and develop meaningful agriculture insights from research collected across the country. Client support and education Help onboard new clients, conduct midseason and final data reviews, and translate imagery data into practical agronomic recommendations. Youll work with seed companies, biologicals firms, independent researchers, and others who rely on our platform. Business development Build relationships within the Canadian ag research community, support sales conversations, and help identify where aerialPLOT fits for Canadian growers and researchers. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related field Strong background in soil science, agriculture, plant nutrition, irrigation, and crop research Experience with aerial imagery, remote sensing, and precision agriculture Ability to analyze complex datasets and pull out trends and insights Strong communication and presentation skills across both technical and non-technical audiences candidates will be evaluated on their ability to clearly present who they are and what they bring Comfortable managing multiple projects with limited guidance in a dispersed team Familiarity with emerging ag tech, on-farm applications, and field operations A practical mindset you lean toward solutions that work in the field, not just on paper Technology savvy Requirements Must reside in or near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Must be 21+ with a valid Canadian drivers licence and clean driving record (subject to background check) All employees are required to obtain a Basic Operations Pilot Certificate (drone certification) Able to travel extensively during peak season, including overnight stays up to 75% of the week Physically able to walk rough terrain and lift 50+ lbs Nice to Have Technical sales or business development experience Experience working in or building a startup environment Existing relationships in the Canadian ag research or consulting community GIS tools or geospatial data processing experience Background in field trial management or CRO work Why aerialPLOT This is an early-stage role in a new market. Youll have a hand in shaping how we operate in Canada from the clients we work with to how we adapt our approach for Canadian cropping systems. Our platform captures full-season crop dynamics through repeated aerial measurements, and the data our digital agronomists collect is the foundation for everything we deliver. Youll be part of a small, focused team that understands agriculture and takes the work seriously.
