Reporting to the Vice President of Contract Services, the Estimator/Coordinator plays a critical role in the preparation and coordination of engineered dewatering proposals for complex subsurface utility and infrastructure projects. This position requires strong technical aptitude, a working understanding of geotechnical and hydrogeological conditions, and familiarity with regulatory requirements related to construction dewatering. The Estimator Coordinator supports the evaluation of site conditions, assists in the development of engineered dewatering and discharge management plans, coordinates permitting requirements (including PTTW and discharge approvals), and prepares detailed cost estimates and proposal documentation to deliver accurate, competitive, and compliant solutions to our clients. Detailed Job Description Estimating Locate and source available projects for tender and attend tender site meetings. Attend pre-bid site visits, assess jobsite layouts. Be point of contact to GC/client(estimator) for quoting enquiries, tender opportunities and job closings. Review tender drawings and specifications, engineering reports (geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental) to perform assessment and quantity take-off. Write engineering plans, prepare layout drawings and P&ID (process and instrumentation diagram); communicate any changes with design with PM and client. Prepare quotations for tender submission using inventory software management program. Design comprehensive dewatering systems through conceptual design, basic engineering, and detailed engineering phases. Basic project cycle phases will be expanded to include Identification of opportunity; pre-feasibility study; feasibility; Implementation; efficiency and service monitoring; decommissioning. Develop and design multistage groundwater treatment and filtration systems for site specific applications related to groundwater and surface water control. Assist with obtaining pricing from preferred vendor list (if applicable). Finalize bid and present to Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for final signature (2-signature policy). Follow up on final tender results as per our standard guideline and track on CRM. Track win/losses; and update CRM software (Salesforce) as per policy. Report results to Project Manager. Upon award, responsible for project transition to team. Any duties as assigned to assist with the estimating process. Coordination Liaise with shop operations to check on inventory availability. Communicate on a daily and regular basis with the project managers and operations teams, both field and shop operations. Prepare delivery and return slips and purchase orders. Verify quantities, materials and consumables along with installation and return dates to ensure budgets are met and any extras to contract are tracked. Prepare change orders, revised quotations dependent on complexity of client request. Coordinate and oversee logistics, pump system operation through to decommissioning and equipment return as per scope of agreements/contracts with customer. Any duties as assigned to assist with the project coordination. Act in compliance with Aquatechs Health and Safety and Environmental Management. Job Qualifications: Education, Certification, Technical Skills and Soft Skills Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. 25 years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or construction administration. CIQS designation or working toward certification (asset). Safety training (WHMIS, First Aid, COR/OSHA awareness) is an asset. Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, ProEst). Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project). Attention to detail: ensures precision in estimates, documentation, and reporting. Organization: manages multiple estimates, bids, and project files efficiently. Communication: clear and professional communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Problem-Solving: proactive in resolving discrepancies or conflicts. Collaboration: works well across estimating and operations teams. Time Management: able to meet tight bid deadlines and manage coordination tasks simultaneously. Adaptability: flexible in handling both preconstruction and project support functions. Professionalism: represents the company effectively with external partners.
