You can search for this job using its competition number: GEN002415 Application Information Employer Name:Government of Saskatchewan The Legislative District Security Officer will join a team of seven armed officers responsible for the security of the Legislative District. Under your supervisor's direction you will maintain a high level of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality working with your team and others to ensure the safety of all who work and visit the Legislative building and area are safe and secure. Your exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and problemsolving skills and nonjudgmental demeanor will assist in providing information, conducting thorough interviews, investigations, and inspections, that will assist when working through and analyzing complex situations, and scenarios. As the Legislative District Security Officer, your primary responsibilities will be: Implementing and enforcing security policy and procedures. Conducting and reviewing security threats/risk assessments, and determining appropriate security provisions adhering to appropriate standards. Completing security investigations of sensitive issues that may include (Criminal Code offences, and security of Elected Officials, Executive Council, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and staff.) Typically, this position requires a candidate having a background in law enforcement or as a police officer, knowledge and experience required to be successful in this position would be obtained and supplemented by a bachelors degree or college diploma in police science, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field, and will also have the knowledge and competence in the following: Law enforcement, legislation (Canada Criminal Code), and policy regarding public safety, and current law enforcement management theory and administrative standards. National and international policing issues, philosophies, practices, and trends. Knowledge of governance structures.
