We have a current opening for a Senior Accountant for a maternity leave contract role and we are actively reviewing applications. In this role, you''ll take ownership of the accounting function and play a key part in how we manage finance at Tuff Industries. This position blends hands-on accounting with strong customer service and operational support. Core Responsibilities: What You''ll Do: Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR). Process and prepare electronic, cheque, and credit card payments (incoming and outgoing). Perform month-end reconciliations (cash, credit card, inventory, AR/AP, etc.). Prepare journal entries. Monitor, file, and release tax payments to various North American governing bodies. Communicate with vendors and maintain accurate records. Manage incoming customer, dealer, and vendor calls as required. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise: What We Look For: We''re seeking someone with a strong accounting foundation and excellent customer service skills. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Key attributes include: Effective verbal and written communication. Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and attention to detail. Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Sage Accounting (or similar). Ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day. Critical thinking, common sense, and sound judgment. A positive attitude, warm phone manner, and sense of humor. Prior accounting or office administration experience (asset). Experience reconciling and filing provincial sales tax (asset). Working Conditions: Work is generally required to be conducted within an office environment.
