School Principal (Sloane) We are seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time School Principal to lead the academic, operational, and regulatory functions of our Bloomsbury Academy school in North York. The School Principal is responsible for the overall leadership, compliance, educational quality, and parent experience at Bloomsbury Academy Sloane. This role combines pedagogical leadership, Ministry compliance oversight, staff management, and high-touch customer service appropriate for a private school environment. As a licensed child care centre operating under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Education (MOE), Bloomsbury Academy Sloane maintains the highest standards of compliance, safety, and educational excellence. The salary range for this position is $75,000 $85,000 per year, based on skills and experience. Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance & Licensing (MOE / CCEYA) Ensure full compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ontario Regulation 137/15 Maintain up-to-date required policies and procedures Lead Ministry inspections and licensing visits Oversee serious occurrence reporting and documentation Ensure staff training compliance (First Aid, VSC, annual policy reviews) Maintain accurate records and regulatory binders Educational Leadership Oversee implementation of Bloomsburys Montessori-inspired program Ensure alignment with How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) Support curriculum planning and pedagogical documentation Mentor and coach RECEs and educators Support childrens school readiness and executive function development Foster inclusive practices and Individual Support Plans (ISPs) Montessori certification is considered a strong asset. Staff Leadership & Culture Recruit, onboard, and supervise educators and support staff Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching Maintain positive staff morale and team cohesion Oversee staffing ratios and scheduling in compliance with CCEYA Lead staff meetings and professional development initiatives Parent Experience & Customer Service As a private preschool, Bloomsbury Academy Sloane prioritizes exceptional family experience. Serve as the primary point of contact for families Address parent concerns with professionalism and responsiveness Lead tours for prospective families Support admissions and enrollment processes Maintain a calm, polished, and service-oriented leadership presence The Principal must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and customer service orientation. Health, Safety & Risk Management Ensure supervision standards and headcount procedures are followed Oversee safe arrival and dismissal procedures Manage illness exclusion, outbreak protocols, and infection control Ensure playground and environment safety inspections Lead emergency preparedness drills and documentation Operational Oversight Monitor enrollment and capacity planning Collaborate with central operations on budgets and staffing Support tuition communication and policy enforcement Maintain campus presentation and physical environment standards Qualifications and Experiences: Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators Minimum 5 years experience in licensed child care Minimum 23 years leadership experience (Supervisor or Principal level preferred) Strong knowledge of CCEYA and MOE licensing requirements Experience leading Ministry inspections Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C Vulnerable Sector Check Montessori certification (AMI, MACTE, or equivalent), an asset Experience in a private school setting, an asset Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, ECE, or related field, an asset Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed is expected.
