About the Job: SUMMARY: General shop duties under supervision, including providing assembly assistance, parts cleaning, assisting in shop organization, and maintenance. QUALIFICATIONS: Academic: Grade 12 diploma preferred. Courses in mechanical/electrical technology are an asset. Work Experience: Some mechanical/electrical assembly and/or metal fabrication experience or equivalent preferred. Experience in the use of pneumatic tools is an asset. Forklift certification is required. Other: Ability to read blueprints, competence in mathematics is an asset. Good computer skills an asset. Ability to lift 35 lbs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in organizing, cleaning, and pressure washing parts. Assist assemblers under supervision. Pallet/crate building. Crating and packaging for shipping. Shop maintenance, including general weekly cleaning, organizing, and odd jobs. Empty recycling bins, change garbage bags, and assist with replenishing paper supply if need be. Keep an accurate record of time charged to each job. Full comprehension of safety requirements. Other duties as required. English spoken and written comprehension is required. Forklift certification is a requirement prior to or upon hiring. Working Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 6:30 AM to 2:10 PM on Friday. Compensation & Benefits: Fair market wage is based on skills and experience. Corporate medical and dental plan after 3 months. Vacation, Tool, and Boot allowance.
