Requisition Number: TENAN002241 Type: Internal and External candidates Part-Time (Indeterminate) Hours & Days of Work: 16 hours per week (Saturday & Sunday from 11:30 8:00 a.m.) Program & Location: Aoki Ross - Downtown Eastside Compensation: $25.18 per hour, plus a generous leave, benefits and pension package Deadline: By noon Monday, March 9th, 2026 About Us Atira Development Society builds, operates and maintains housing throughout the Lower Mainland to meet the need for safe, appropriate and affordable housing. Our property management services include services to strata corporations, developers, rental property owners, non-profit housing, and housing cooperatives in Greater Vancouver. About The Job Reporting to the Program Manager, the Tenant Support Worker is responsible for the day-to-day work of supporting residents with a wide array of emotional and practical supports. Activities include but are not limited to assessing the general well-being of residents and making referrals to service providers, helping develop safety plans, conducting regular safety checks, liaising with relevant community partners regarding residents'' various other needs, providing one-to-one support, accompaniments, and advocacy, actively helping residents keep their rooms clean and prepare for pest control, and preparing and delivering food. About You You are friendly, compassionate, and deeply knowledgeable about the challenges facing Two-Spirit, Trans, and gender-diverse individuals experiencing homelessness. You''re passionate about supporting these communities and are adaptable, ready to take on various tasks as needed. You make quick, confident decisions and know when to seek guidance. You prioritize residents, involving them in decisions that affect their lives. Your commitment to anti-oppression, intersectionality, and understanding of colonialism and its ongoing impact (including the residential school system) is strong. You''re comfortable working in a harm reduction environment, supporting tenants whether they choose abstinence or other approaches. You have at least a diploma or certificate in a related field (e.g., community support, mental health, or social services) with one year of experience as a support worker working with people affected by trauma and who may also struggle with substance use and or mental wellness, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Lived experience and familiarity with the local community are assets. Atira strives to hire staff who reflect the people we serve.
