STREET USE AND PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (2) (Permanent, Full-Time) Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation, and arts amenities. The West Vancouver Bylaw and Licensing Services Department is currently seeking two (2) Street Use and Parking Enforcement Officers to join our highly qualified team. Reporting to the Manager of Bylaw & Licensing Services, this position is responsible for inspectional, regulatory and investigative work related to the enforcement of municipal street use, boulevard and parking regulations and bylaws. This position enforces street use, boulevard, traffic and parking regulations; patrols assigned areas, issues tickets for parking infractions and provides information on street use, boulevard, traffic bylaws and parking regulations; investigates routine complaints related to various other bylaws; and assists in the enforcement of other bylaws as required. The work involves extensive public relations contact, requiring action with tact and diplomacy. The preferred candidate will display considerable use of sound judgement and action in the interpretation, explanation, and compliance of District bylaws. The more difficult problems and policy matters are referred to a superior who reviews work performance for conformance to established policies and procedures and the effectiveness of enforcement operations. The preferred candidate will possess completion of grade 12 and have some related enforcement or regulatory experience; strong written and verbal communication skills, sound experience and training conducting investigations and will have experience with attending adjudication proceedings. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
