Under the direction of the Director of Viticulture & Winemaking and Assistant Winemaker, we are seeking a Cellar Masterto coordinate all winemaking processes from harvest to bottling, ensuring top-notch production standards and equipment upkeep. This hands-on role entails supervising a shift during harvest, optimizing cellar workflow, maintaining equipment sanitation, and conducting basic equipment maintenance, necessitating in-depth familiarity with all crush pad, cellar and packaging machinery. This position is based at our West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada location at 3725 Boucherie Road. We are dedicated to crafting excellence in every vine, cultivating multiple distinct grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Marechal, Foch and Regent, across our varied geographic locations from as far south as Osoyoos to as far north as Vernon. Our commitment to excellence is supported by our state-of-the-art in-house lab, where advanced analysis, including soil and petiole analyses, help us optimize vineyard health and performance. Responsibilities Responsible for the day-to-day operations in the winery. Supervises, trains and performs all cellar and harvest tasks including rackings, transfers, barrel work, additions, blending, fining and filtering. Supervises and participates in operating the bottling, packaging and disgorging lines. Oversees one of the harvest shifts, including receiving grapes, pressing, destemming/crushing and equipment maintenance. Responsible for the general maintenance, sanitation and cleanliness of the cellar and all equipment. Proficient on all equipment including (but not limited to) optical sorters, density sorters, flash detente, HL2, Persio, Resoul, Oenodia (X-Flow, E.D., pH), VLS high solids cross flow, RO and bottling/packaging/disgorging equipment. Schedules and coordinates the receival and shipping of packaged goods. Assists in the training of cellar and harvest staff. Participates in inventory management. Champion and ensure safe cellar practices and the company H&S program are followed. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications A degree in winemaking or similar field is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of cellar experience. A knowledge and desire to work with various types of equipment. A strong emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency. Hands on and self-motivated. Strong communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize as necessary. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Open minded and willingness to try new things. Must be able to lift 50lbs+ and stand for long periods of time. Forklift driving certificate is an asset. Must be able to work longer and varying hours and a variety of shifts during peak periods including harvest, bottling and disgorging. Valid BC drivers license for business travel between locations across the Okanagan. Legally eligible to work in Canada. Why Work for Us? What We Offer The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 (*) per annum, commensurate with experience.
