RM of Corman Park Seeks Senior Planner - Development Officer Duties: Act as a subject matter expert on major long-range and regional planning initiatives. Lead and support complex, multi-faceted projects with advanced project management skills, including coordination and resource management. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, representing the organizations interests effectively. Key Responsibilities: Execute long-term strategies aligning with departmental goals, including policy/procedure development to streamline planning and permitting processes. Manage complex, multi-faceted projects with coordination and resource oversight. Act as primary liaison with developers, architects, and engineers to resolve variances, provide Development Permit guidance, and manage major application files. Evaluate and decide on high-priority/complex development permits across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Provide expert interpretation of zoning bylaws, official plans, and land-use legislation to staff and external stakeholders. Support bylaw enforcement investigations and coordinate progressive enforcement for non-compliant activities. Prepare and present recommendations to the Development Appeal Board. Deliver outstanding customer service, technical advice, and problem-solving to public, contractors, and professionals on codes/bylaws.
