McLeod Elementary School Vanderhoof, BC Start Date: November 25, 2025 June 30, 2026, or until the incumbent returns, whichever occurs first. Salary: $60,648 - $114,735 + current provincial recruitment and retention allowance Assignment: .20 Limited Duration Position PRIMARY TEACHER (GRADE 1/2); specific assignment to be determined by the principal. District Context Nechako Lakes School District is situated on the traditional unceded territories of fourteen First Nations representing the Dakelh, Nedut'en and Wet'suwet'en peoples. The district serves 3,000 students in standard schools and approximately 900 FTE at EBUS Academy. Qualifications Bachelor of Education (Elementary) A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at primary grade levels Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students Attributes & Commitments The BC Education Plan and goals of the education system Supporting every child in learning at high levels Work closely with parents/guardians and caregivers and the broader community The Board of Education Strategic Plan Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion Ongoing professional learning for the purpose of strengthening student learning Making evidence-based, collaborative decisions about student learning in a professional learning community environment Supporting Individual Education Plans (IEP) in a collaborative team environment The TRC Calls to Action Integrating Indigenous culture and Ways of Knowing into curriculum and learning activities Application Teachers currently employed with the district or on the district's recall list who are interested in this vacancy should email Donna Benson at (email missing) and include the posting number.
