The primary responsibility of the Accounting Summer Student is to assist the Controllership Accounting team with various accounting type tasks. YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME You will work closely with the Controllership team assisting with the following: Preparation of financial data for input to the Corporate General Ledger ensuring compliance with IFRS for different lines of business including Gaming, Digital, Charitable Gaming, Lottery, Sports, and Shared Services Conduct reconciliation of significant account balances, including monthly revenue, prizing, bank accounts, accounts receivable and service provider files/fees in accordance with IFRS and/or service provider agreements as required. Issues are raised timely to Senior Accounting Analyst or Accounting Manager for resolution Assist the Senior Accounting Analyst, as needed, with the calculation of service provider fees and associated financial reconciliations Preparation of the calculations of various external corporate stakeholder obligations such as municipal and charity commissions Analyzing and reviewing the daily revenue file from Service Providers and internal source systems, ensuring that the file is received on a timely basis, free of material misstatement and is in accordance with IFRS and/or service provider agreements as required Preparation of the daily calculation of prize funding transfers to and from the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation for numerous National lottery games as per ILC policies and procedures Preparation of threshold analysis on the daily revenue file, as required, to determine if there are issues requiring investigation and consult with Senior Accounting Analyst/Accounting Manager for resolution Update and review process documentation Actively participating in daily team meetings Performing other administrative tasks as required including planned/ad-hoc projects. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME Education: actively pursuing a university or college degree/diploma in finance, business administration, or accounting Experience: Ability to work successfully at the Foster Drive office, 5 days a week Experience with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Previous work experience in an office environment would be considered an asset.
