Job Opportunity Position: Program Coordinator Organization: Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture Location: North Saanich, Greater Victoria / Capital Regional District BC Position Overview Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture is seeking a community-oriented Program Coordinator to deliver on-site programming focused on organizing youth education programs, stewarding community garden initiatives, and leading volunteer engagement. This role is ideal for someone passionate about regenerative agriculture, community food systems, and hands-on coordination. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening Sandown''s educational and volunteer-based programming while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations on-site. Depending on the determined hourly rate ($23$25/hour depending on experience), the position may be structured as: Full-time (35 hrs/week) for approximately 5 months, or Part-time (1520 hrs/week) for approximately months Final schedule and term length will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate. Depending on funding, this position may be extended. About The Organization Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture is a non-profit, operated by the Circular Farm and Food Society, founded in 2019 in response to the District of North Saanich call for site operators. We oversee a portion of public land in North Saanich, where we operate programs for the community to be involved in regenerative agriculture. Our programs include Growing Young Farmers, the Regenerative Farmer Program, the Learning Farm, a Community Garden, and tours, workshops, and events. Please see our website for more information. Key Responsibilities Assist with planning, scheduling, and implementation of on-site activities including workshops, farm-based learning sessions, farm operations, and public events. Serve as an on-site point of contact for program participants. Contribute to social media or communications updates related to programming as required. Recruit, onboard, and coordinate volunteers. Lead volunteer work sessions and ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Develop strategies to grow and retain volunteer participation. Qualifications & Skills Experience coordinating programs, events, or community initiatives. Experience working in agriculture, food systems, environmental education, or related fields. Demonstrated ability to lead volunteers or community groups. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to self-organize and lead a team of volunteers. Basic administrative and technology skills. Physical capability to perform farm tasks.
