Automotive Mechanic Job Description Position Title: Automotive Mechanic Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Location: Vanderhoof Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light-duty vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role supports company operations by maintaining service trucks, pickups, and passenger vehicles. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on light-duty vehicles Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and inspections Repair or replace engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and recommend repairs Maintain accurate service records and inspection reports Follow safety standards and manufacturer repair procedures Keep tools, shop, and work areas clean and organized Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with supervisors Qualifications & Experience Red Seal Automotive Service Technician (or equivalent) preferred Minimum 1 year''s experience as an automotive mechanic Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver''s licence Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Assets Experience maintaining fleet vehicles Class 3 licence Experience working in industrial or remote environments Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$48.00 per hour Benefits: Dental care Extended health care Flexible schedule Housing allowance Life insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance RRSP match Store discount Tuition reimbursement Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: Vanderhoof, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Experience: Heavy duty mechanic or automotive mechanic: 1 year (preferred) Language: English (required) Location: Vanderhoof, BC (preferred) Work Location: In person
