Engineering For Kids has been delivering interactive, hands-on S.T.E.M classes and camps in Vancouver since 2021. We strongly believe that children learn best when they''re fully immersed and having a great time. And it''s just as important for our staff to have fun as well We''re looking for passionate, enthusiastic STEM Instructors who are excited to share this fun (and educational) camp experience with children ages 4-14. Training: in-person and online training will be provided before first shift Camps: Weekdays 8:30-4:00 pm (camps run 9am -3 pm) during Pro-D days, winter, Spring Break and summer breaks Locations: Camps are held at various community centers across Greater Vancouver Pay range: $ plus 4% vacation pay. Also bring your own ideas, passions, and expertise to the job - we love this and so do the kids Primary Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following: Travel to locations and work alongside a co-leader or camp leader to deliver assigned curriculum. Provide appropriate instruction that considers the unique abilities of every student Create and maintain a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all Develop regular opportunities for student engagement Support students in groups and on an individual basis Act as a role model for youth who look up to you Be professional, courteous and approachable to students, parents, and staff Follow policies around creating an inclusive environment, safety, dress code, and other policies have a can-do attitude and willing to learn Secondary Responsibilities: Guide and support an Assistant Camp Leader (some camps) Provide feedback on curriculum You are someone who: Has worked with children (experience managing large groups is an asset) Can break down and explain challenging concepts in a way that children can relate Has experience in the service industry and understands the importance of customer service Can communicate clearly and concisely and enjoys speaking in front of groups of children Can think on your feet and find solutions to everyday class/camp issues or challenges Has a real interest and experience in S.T.E.M fields - particularly: engineering, robotics, coding, Minecraft, 3D printing Has a real interest in teaching and engaging children through hands-on play and activities Must have/Be willing to obtain: Clean police check to work with children (within last 4 months) Personal Laptop Vehicle or willing to travel to various locations within Greater Vancouver Knowledge and experience in 3D printing, coding, and game developments are strong assets Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Seasonal, Freelance Pay: $19.50-$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 30 36 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule Education: Bachelor''s Degree (preferred) Work Location: In person
