Codiac Crane Ltd. is a locally owned and operated mobile crane company currently seeking a driver/operator for our growing organization.Our team is made up of a dedicated and hardworking staff who create a rewarding and welcoming work environment.MONCTON NB is currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Boom Truck/Mobile Crane Operator.This individual must have a provincial or interprovincial crane/apprentice license.Knowledge of local region preferable.KEY TASKSThe Boom Truck Operator transports products to job sites and places these materials in requested work locationsOperate mobile cranes to lift, position, or place equipment and materialsTransport loads in a professional manner following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standardsPerform pre-trip circle-checks and complete logbook entriesEnsure proper vehicle and boom/mobile crane maintenance and servicingVerify load security and accuracyDeliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiencySafe operation of the boom/mobile crane while loading and unloadingCommunicate with customers and other trades on construction sitesMaintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arisePrepare trucks for reloadingClean and lubricate cranesInstruct apprenticesPerform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoistingAct as an ambassador for the company with all employees and customersFollow all regulations, company policies, and proceduresOther duties as assigned by managementSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSValid Canadian Class 1 drivers license minimum with air brake endorsement with five years commercial driving experienceProvincial/interprovincial crane licenseMobile crane certification/apprenticeEffective written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of basic mathematicsBasic hand tool skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsSitting and driving for long periods of timeFrequently climbing up and down ladderPulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job siteTYPES OF CRANESHydraulic, telescoping boom, and knuckle boom cranesCOMPENSATIONWages will be based on experience levelEXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION5 years clean Canadian drivers license abstractDrivers validity license checkHave personal vehicleWilling to travelCREDENTIALSBoom truck crane operator trade certification/apprenticeMobile crane operator trade certification/apprenticeMobile crane operator red seal certificate (would be a bonus but not a necessity)Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) CertificateFirst Aid CertificateADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWork under pressurePhysically demandingAttention to detailDay shift and periodic night shift workBonus and overtime pay
