Job Summary The Tax Manager is a technical and executionfocused role that supports the Global Tax team in the accurate and timely preparation and execution of TMX Groups core tax tasks, with a primary focus on Canadian tax. This position will assist with the daytoday workflow for compliance and reporting, and provide essential technical support to the business. Reporting Structure & Location Reports to: Senior Tax Manager Role is hybrid (23 days/week in the office) based in Toronto, ON. Key Accountabilities Tax Planning Support & Execution Tax Planning & M&A Support: Execute routine components of complex tax matters, including preparing supporting documentation and data. Transfer Pricing: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and support the process for identifying and gathering data for tax incentives and credit opportunities (e.g., SR&ED, patent box regimes). Business Partnership: Serve as a technical resource, providing accurate tax information and analysis to Finance and Business Units for daytoday operational queries. Tax Compliance, Financial Reporting, and Operational Management Canadian Tax Compliance: Assist with the endtoend detailed preparation and filing of all Canadian direct and indirect tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT/GST, employment tax, pension tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax) to ensure timely submission. Tax Provision Support: Support the detailed, underlying preparation of the quarterly/annual tax provision cycle, including drafting supporting documentation, preparing tax reporting schedules, and assisting in the maintenance of uncertain tax positions. Audit and Dispute Support: Provide support for the daytoday management of tax audits and disputes by preparing auditready documentation and coordinating information flow as requested. Operational Efficiency: Execute assigned tasks related to process improvements and standardization across compliance and reporting tasks to enhance the efficiency of core tax processes. Tax Technology & Automation System Utilization: Ensure diligent, daytoday use of all new technologies (e.g., tax engines, workflow automation) implemented to streamline routine compliance tasks. Data Quality: Maintain the quality and integrity of underlying tax data, including generating and reconciling systemgenerated reports for tax analysis and compliance needs. Must Have(s) Education: CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including public accounting, with a proven track record in the preparation and filing of Canadian tax compliance and supporting tax reporting processes. Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in Canadian tax, and working knowledge of transfer pricing, crossborder structuring, and employment tax. Core Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills; proven ability to manage detailed work and meet deadlines.
