The Vice President of Information Technology at West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Information Technology (IT) department, including cybersecurity, infrastructure, and the help desk teams. This role works collaboratively with all departments across West Edmonton Mall, Fantasyland Hotel, and related entities, providing guidance and practical tech solutions that support both daily operations and long-term objectives. This Vice President of IT will oversee the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of technology services, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs. This position provides leadership to IT teams, sets the departments priorities, ensures technology resources are effectively managed to support all divisions of West Edmonton Mall Property Inc., and establishes IT as a wellstructured, businessaligned function with clear priorities and accountability. The Vice President will build confidence in ITs ability to plan and deliver effectively, while ensuring technology initiatives are focused, coordinated, and supportive of operational requirements across the organization. Primary Responsibilities Providing leadership and direction for all IT functions across West Edmonton Mall Property Inc., including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, applications, and enduser support. Develop, implement, and maintain a clear IT roadmap aligned with organizational goals and longterm business priorities. Oversee overall system reliability, performance and security, working closely with the VP of Cyber Security to ensure appropriate safeguards and business continuity plans are in place. Partner closely with West Edmonton Malls department leaders to understand operational needs and deliver practical, scalable technology solutions that support internal business operations. Lead, mentor, and evaluate IT managers and staff, setting clear expectations, strengthening accountability, and supporting ongoing team development for a team of approximately 20 IT professionals within West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. Oversee the planning and execution of major IT projects, including system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and technology modernization efforts. Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, and maintain strong governance and documentation practices. Establish performance indicators to measure system, service levels, and overall IT effectiveness for all business units within West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. Inform leadership on technology risks, opportunities, and longterm planning. Ensure IT operations and processes are aligned with industrys best practices and applied consistently across the department. Oversee the IT budget and lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and management of thirdparty technology providers. Monitor other special projects, initiatives, tasks, and/or developments relating to IT resources, planning or execution. Keep executive leadership informed of key technology risks, priorities, and longerterm planning considerations. Collaborate with IT leaders across Triple Five properties to align standards, share best practices, and identify opportunities for efficiencies where appropriate. Improve IT visibility and communication by strengthening reporting, service standards, and transparency with executive leadership and business stakeholders. Desired Qualifications Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or a related field. 15+ years of seniorlevel IT leadership experience, with responsibility for both departmental strategy and daytoday operations. Minimum 7+ years leading managers across multiple IT disciplines (infrastructure, applications, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and service desk). Experience developing and executing multiyear IT plans within a complex operational environment. Proven ability to bring structure and clarity to how work is prioritized and delivered. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the IT department and experience managing groups of IT professionals in a teambased work environment. Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities, with the capacity to make sound decisions in complex network environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with executives, department leaders, and stakeholders. Experience managing and overseeing departmental budgets and performing vendor negotiations and execution.
