Your New Role Reporting to the Regional Director, Property Management, you will oversee the daytoday operations, maintenance, tenant relations, budgeting, and contractor management for a multisite retail portfolio across the Interior (Vernon, Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Kamloops), with periodic remote travel to an additional property in Prince George. You are responsible for ensuring all sites operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards. This includes completing regular property inspections, leading vendor performance, managing budgets, resolving tenant issues, and providing comprehensive reporting to ownership and senior leadership. The role requires 24/7 availability for emergencies and a strong orientation toward service, responsiveness, and value creation. Key Responsibilities Provide detailed reporting to ownership and the executive team on property conditions, tenant matters, and operational performance. Conduct regular physical inspections to ensure properties meet operational and presentation standards. Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring delivery, quality, and adherence to contract obligations. Build strong tenant relationships that support satisfaction, retention, and occupancy levels. Ensure timely inspections for all equipment, utilities, and services; address deficiencies promptly. Manage purchase orders, review invoices, and track work completion. Respond to tenant concerns with urgency and professionalism, ensuring effective resolution. Monitor lease maturities and changes to optimize asset performance. Assist with collections, tenant sales reporting, and insurance compliance. Collaborate with internal teams (Leasing, Construction, Accounting) to support renewals, assignments, billings, and tenant fitouts. Drive cost savings and revenue opportunities through operational efficiencies, technology adoption, sustainable practices, and contractor value. Manage tendering processes for operational services and contracts. Develop, monitor, and adjust annual property budgets; review and approve all expenses. Analyze monthly variance reports and work with leadership to maintain fiscal targets. Coordinate insurance and legal documentation relating to incidents or claims. Liaise with Accounting on CAM reconciliations and other financial items. Foster strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders. What You Need to Succeed You bring a bachelors degree or relevant industry designation, or equivalent handson experience, and a t least four years managing commercial or retail properties . Youre organized, able to juggle shifting priorities, and comfortable communicating with people at every level. You work independently, stay motivated, and look for solutions rather than roadblocks. You know how to read leases, contracts, and financial documents, and you understand tenant needs and the realities of retail operations. You can lead and hold contractors accountable, and you approach your work with professionalism, good judgement, and an entrepreneurial mindset. You collaborate well with others, build strong relationships, and youre able to travel throughout the Interior and to Prince George when needed. Whilst this is a remote role, you must have a home base in Interior BC.
