Overview Under the direction of the Chief Radiologist, is responsible for the division of ultrasound, supervises and performs those duties directly involved in a wide range of diagnostic medical techniques in the field of ultrasound. Demonstrates independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative. Supervises technologists of all lower grades and recommends the scheduling of daily workload and performs minor repairs to the ultrasound units. Functions as a clinical coordinator of the ultrasound program in cooperation with the Michener Institute. Education High school graduate or equivalent Satisfactory completion of formal Radiography training in an approved CAMRT Training school or equivalent and is registered with the B.R.T Registered with the A.R.D.M.S or equivalent Experience Technologist in the field of Ultrasound for not less than 4 years Other related experience will be recognized Courses related to Ultrasound anatomy and physiology, and physics Attendance in courses on supervision and interpersonal relations Good interpretation and communication skills Tactfulness, supervisory skills, independent judgement Good work and attendance record required All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) (formerly Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH)) agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
