Camp Kadesh is seeking a new full-time staff team member who loves camp ministry, has a passion for feeding people, and understands the important role food plays in a camp ministry program. The right candidate will have a history of creativity and excellence in food service, a passion for Christian camp ministry, be a joy-filled follower of Jesus, and have a desire to work as part of a team.Reporting to the Executive Director and working in cooperation with the full-time staff, an ideal candidate will be a team player that will help our full time staff continue to grow Camp Kadesh as one of the best camps in Canada. The Food Services Manager serves an important role in providing food service leadership as an essential part of the overall camping ministry and mission of Camp Kadesh.Key Responsibilities:Kitchen budget creation and tracking, including menu planning, food ordering and receiving deliveriesParent/group correspondence, incident reports, and other appropriate record keepingManagement of kitchen inventory, supplies and equipmentHiring, training and oversight of seasonal staff working in the kitchenSupervision of meal preparation, timely meal service, and clean upEnsure proper food storage and daily sanitationResponsible for coaching and coordination of staff and volunteer in training, food preparation, and general encouragement and supportUnderstanding the key role food service plays as part of the ministry and mission of Camp KadeshFacilitate or oversee accommodation of dietary concerns where possible and within budget limitsGenerally ensure the kitchen and food meet all food standards and best practicesQualificationsGraduate of a food services related program or equivalent life/work experienceKnowledge of special diets such as, but not exclusively limited to: gluten free, vegetarian and hallalAble to work in a team environment and independentlyFoodSafe level 1 certified or willing to obtain FoodSafe Certification (or similar certification).Standard computer skills. (MS Word & Excel, Online ordering programs and Google docs primarily)Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver license (or equivalent)Enjoy and connect well with people of all agesPrevious experience working in Christian camp ministry is preferred.Previous management experience is an asset.Mature Christian, able to agree with the Camp Kadesh statements of faith and values.Agree to the Mission and Purpose of Camp Kadesh.CompensationThe Food Services Manager position is a full-time position on site in Christopher Lake, SK. Salary and total compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation is $40,000 - $45,000 (A combination of salary ply supplied Housing or housing allowance) + Benefits package. After one year, contributions to a pension plan (5% of salary). Three weeks of starting vacation. This salary position is set to average to 40 hour per week throughout the year, but compensation assumes that prime seasons will require more hours as required and reduced hours in seasons that are less busy. Prime seasons are May, June, July and August.
