Job Description

Do you have a passion for protecting aquatic ecosystems and advancing sustainable fisheries management? Yucwmenlcwu (Caretakers of the Land) LLP, a division of Splatsin Development Corporation, is seeking a dedicated Fisheries Biologist to join our growing Environment team. This is a handson role where youll manage aquatic and fisheries projects from the field to the office contributing to environmental stewardship, habitat restoration, and meaningful conservation initiatives that make a real difference. What Youll Do: Manage and deliver fisheries and aquatic projects including monitoring, habitat assessments, and environmental permitting. Lead and coordinate seasonal fieldwork, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Develop project work plans, budgets, and reports from start to finish. Oversee data collection, interpretation, and reporting with strong attention to detail. Collaborate with Indigenous communities, regulators, and clients on conservation and restoration projects. Mentor and support junior staff and seasonal field technicians. Present project results and updates to Splatsin and Secwepemc leadership, as required. What You Bring: Bachelors Degree in Biology, Natural Resources, or a related discipline. Registered (or eligible) Professional Biologist, Geoscientist, or Agrologist in British Columbia. 3+ years of professional experience in fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, or environmental consulting. Proven ability to manage and implement field and research projects. Strong technical writing, data analysis, and communication skills. Proficient with MS Office and environmental data tools.
