Summary The Director of Security and Operations, Risk Advisor and Security Provider is responsible for safeguarding a ultra-high-net-worth family through proactive threat identification, risk mitigation, and close personal protection. This role ensures the family''s safety across primary and secondary residences, international travel, private aviation, yacht operations, and lifestyle experiences. Operating with discretion and a service-oriented mindset, the Specialist anticipates evolving risks and implements practical, unobtrusive security solutions that protect without disrupting the family''s lifestyle. The position works in close collaboration with family members, the family office, travel teams, aviation and maritime crews, and vetted external partners to maintain a secure and seamless environment. Key Responsibilities Personal Protection & Family Safety Provide close personal protection to designated family members in residential, travel, and event settings, including private and commercial aviation. Ensure the physical safety of family members during daily activities, public appearances, travel, and experiential engagements. Adjust protection posture dynamically in response to threat levels, environmental variables, and situational changes. Maintain a polished, service-driven approach consistent with private household standards. Risk Assessment & Mitigation Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across residences, vacation properties, yachts, aviation operations, travel destinations, and special events. Identify vulnerabilities related to physical security, travel exposure, and situational threats. Develop and implement tailored mitigation strategies, security protocols, and contingency plans. Continuously monitor global, regional, and situational developments that may impact family safety. Travel, Residential, Aviation & Maritime Security Support secure travel planning in collaboration with travel advisors, including advance work, route planning, and destination risk analysis. Oversee security considerations for yacht operations, including port assessments, crew coordination, and maritime security protocols. Manage security aspects of private aviation operations, including airport/FBO assessments, coordination with flight crews and ground handlers, and adherence to international aviation security standards. Coordinate security measures across multiple residences and temporary locations. Education & Advisory Provide age-appropriate safety awareness guidance to family members. Advise on digital, personal, and lifestyle-related risk exposure as it relates to physical security. Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging security trends and evolving risk factors. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination Collaborate closely with the family office, travel teams, yacht crews, and external partners to ensure cohesive security planning. Liaise with vetted security providers, local authorities (as appropriate), and emergency services when required. Support the selection, oversight, and performance management of security vendors and technologies. Experience & Qualifications Minimum 10+ years of experience in protective services, military, law enforcement, intelligence, or private security environments. Post-secondary education in Security Management, Risk Management, Protective Security, Criminal Justice, Security Studies, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience in close personal protection and strategic risk management, preferably supporting high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Proven ability to conduct risk assessments across residential, travel, aviation, and maritime contexts. Experience operating internationally and within culturally diverse environments. Relevant certifications in personal protection, executive protection, security management, or risk assessment are considered an asset. Technical Knowledge & Core Competencies Advanced expertise in threat assessment, protective intelligence, and risk mitigation methodologies. Exceptional situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure. Working knowledge of residential security systems, travel security protocols, and maritime security considerations. Ability to balance robust protection with discretion, privacy, and lifestyle sensitivity. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and advise without creating unnecessary concern. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional maturity. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination capabilities. Physical readiness consistent with close protection duties. Working Conditions Environment Private residences, yacht operations, family office settings, and frequent domestic and international travel. Physical Requirements Maintains physical readiness required for close personal protection duties, including extended periods of standing, walking, travel, and operational mobility across varied environments.
