Job Description: Position Purpose summary: Reporting to the Director of Community Programs, this role will provide ongoing review, revision, and evaluation of the Community Justice Service''s (CJS) programs, facilitators, and program delivery. This position will be responsible for training and critiquing new and existing program delivery facilitators. The Program Training Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing revision and development of existing and new community justice programs. The incumbent will deliver and facilitate programs for participants. Accountabilities: Program Development, Revision, and Support Design and administer program evaluations. Present correctional programs to Ministry partners for approval. Present to various Police Services to build/expand our community partners. Assist in fostering program expansion to other CJS units. Participate in development of new programs to meet existing and potential correctional client needs. Assist with other correctional programs, when needed. Facilitator Training: Train the trainer in Community Justice related programs to build pool of trainers and provide feedback on their first facilitation. Train staff to become program facilitators and provide constructive feedback to trainers in the delivery of correctional programs. Attend training to develop new facilitation skills for Community Justice Programs as required. Program Delivery: Deliver and facilitate correctional programs to participants. Maintain records on all attendees and absences. Revise training manuals for correctional programs. Provide notes post workshop of who attended and who was absence and provide a statistics report back to the Crown. Deal with serious incidents and crisis situations in a safe and therapeutic manner. Ensure clients are provided with appropriate medical attention. Refer clients to outside resources and counselling when needed. Provide referrals to support clients in fulfilling their spiritual needs . This role has no formal financial or materials management authority or accountability but is expected to employ wise use of resources in accordance with policies and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS: Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Qualifications and Certifications Post-Secondary two-year Diploma in Correctional/Social Services field. Up to date First Aid/CPR or willingness to receive training. Up to date Non-Violent Crisis Prevention & Intervention Certificate. Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements Three (3) years of related experience working in corrections. Previous experience working with people in the correctional justice system. Valid Driver''s License & access to a reliable vehicle. Skills and Capabilities Excellent communication and facilitation skills (written and verbal) in English. Deal tactfully and courteously with participants, participant''s families, and staff in a positive manner Demonstrate a high level of integrity, sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent organizational skills Communication in French considered an asset Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel and other office software. Training and experience delivering correctional programs. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, management, and allied professionals. Criminal Record Check: an original copy of a current Criminal Record Check (CRC) that is less than six (6) months old is required by your start date, and the results of the check must be acceptable to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion. The cost of the CRC is borne by the employee. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $48,731.80 to $60,914.75 with a maximum of $73,097.71. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
