Reporting to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy, responsibilities for this position include the following: 1.Practice as a Licensed Pharmacist in Saskatchewan according to the standards, policies, and requirements set by the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Processionals (SCPP) 2.Supervise and coach all pharmacy team members and ensure that the dispensary is always under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist 3.Conduct quarterly performance reviews for staff pharmacists and semi-annually performance reviews for technicians and assistants, focusing on carrying out Saskatoon Co-op''s mission, vision, and values 4.Fulfil all Pharmacy Manager Responsibilities outlined in the SCPP Reference Manual 5.Full engagement in professional services and expanded scope-of-practice, encouraging pharmacy team members to offer these new services 6.Ensure that a seamless workflow is implemented (or sustained) in order to maintain organization and reduce occurrences of medication errors 7.Ensure the pharmacy and all pharmacy team members are complying with Federal and Provincial legislation, SCPP bylaws, policies, guidelines, professional ethics, and any pharmacy contracts entered into 8.Provide exceptional service, and ensure a high standard of patient-care is being carried out by all pharmacy team members 9.Be responsible for maintain an accurate and fiscally responsible pharmacy inventory, including regular narcotic counts and reconciliation in accordance with regulation 10.Ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy, striving to achieve budgeted financial targets and goals 11.Compile an annual departmental operating budget for approval with the assistance of the Pharmacy Coordinator 12.Recommend (as defined by Co-operative policy) major maintenance repairs and expense items to his/her supervisors 13.To prepare, and help develop (in collaboration with his/her supervisor), all pharmacy operating procedures 14.Ensure the pharmacy premise maintains a clean and professional appearance at all times 15.Responsible for the maintenance of the Co-operative''s equipment and premises 16.Responsible for assessing and placing claims for damaged, faulty, or short-shipped drug merchandise, according to Co-operative policies and procedures 17.To ensure the safekeeping of all cash handled in his/her department and the safekeeping of the dispensary drugs 18.Responsible for maintaining privacy in respects to our patients and business operations, and appropriately handling privacy breaches in accordance with standards set by the Privacy Commissioner of Saskatchewan and SCPP 19.Assist with and/or prepare, in accordance with the annual work plan, the annual departmental advertising and promotional plan 20.Ensure the observance of safety regulations by staff members and customer, correcting hazardous conditions promptly, and ensure compliance with the Quality Improvement Program (COMPASS) to reduce incidents of medication errors 21.Remain up to date on government regulations and requirements with respect to the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals (SCPP), the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan (PAS), and the Saskatchewan Prescription Drug Plan (SPDP) 22.Accept and mentor pharmacy students from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition as well as pharmacy technician students from Sask Polytechnic when possible 23.Ensure that the professional services area, including over-the-counter products, is well maintained 24.Responsible for appropriate staffing of the pharmacy, and able to troubleshoot staffing emergencies independently and promptly 25.Respond to customer and patient concerns/complaints in a timely and effective manner Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited four-year Pharmacy Program Successful completion of the Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada (PEBC) Qualifying Exams Successful completion of the SCPP Jurisprudence Exam No restrictions on pharmacy license Must have practiced as a pharmacist in Canada for a minimum of 2000 hours (equivalent of one year, Full-Time) within the last 3 years Advanced Method Certification Must be strongly service oriented, and be capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner Previous leadership/management experience is an asset, but not required *a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
