Job Description

The E4 Engineer is a registered professional engineer or geoscientist responsible for applying engineering expertise to provide engineering design, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium-complexity projects and operations. This role ensures work is delivered safely, with quality, on time, and within budget in a utility or heavy industrial environment. This position focuses heavily on mechanical system drafting and design support for generation station projects, utilizing Autodesk and other CADD applications. Key Responsibilities Draft and revise engineering drawings for generation station mechanical systems. Support mechanical engineering works by preparing detailed drawings in accordance with established CADD standards. Utilize computer-aided drafting, modeling, and parametric design software to produce 2D and 3D designs. Manage drawings using computerized drawing records management systems. Develop drawings for site preparation, facility construction, and infrastructure installations, including detailed equipment assemblies and components. Create customized drawings for non-standard engineering and design projects. Perform calculations and technical analysis as required. Develop safe engineering solutions by analyzing problems, interpreting specifications, and applying sound engineering judgment. Support project and operations management by assisting with: Cost estimating and change management Contractor payment recommendations Schedule coordination Progress reporting Resolve complex design and field engineering challenges through independent studies and technical analysis. Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards and technical practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineering professionals. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in British Columbia, or eligible for registration. Ability to utilize digital sign and seal technology as required. Experience drafting mechanical systems within a utility, industrial, or heavy infrastructure environment. Strong proficiency with Autodesk and other CADD applications. Familiarity with CAD standards and drawing management systems. Working knowledge of standard industry design and analysis software. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment. Completion of, or willingness to complete, introductory electrical system training relevant to utility infrastructure.
