Senior Business Analyst CSITR (12 Month Contract)Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid Staffing Placement OpportunityProject Description and BackgroundThe successful candidate will complement the organizations existing staff and contract resources within Business Technology Services (BTS). The primary assignment is to provide business analysis support to the Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency Program, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and improving IT resiliency across the enterprise.The organization is undergoing transformation to support innovation and growth. With the increasing speed and frequency of cyber-attacks and their impact on operational capabilities, there is a strong focus on modernizing the cybersecurity approach and enabling secure digital transformation.The successful candidate will also play a key role in strengthening data protection capabilities. This includes supporting the design and implementation of data security governance, classification standards, and protection policies; conducting analysis related to data discovery, monitoring, and lifecycle management; and working with data security tools to ensure sensitive information is properly identified, safeguarded, and compliant with enterprise security requirements.The candidate will be expected to translate business needs into data protection controls and contribute to sustainable processes that enhance the organizations overall data security posture.A cybersecurity vision and strategy have been established, along with a transformation roadmap of improvement initiatives. The candidate will work closely with the Program Manager, the Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency team, and other key stakeholders across the enterprise and its affiliated operating entities.The role involves collaboration with stakeholders from various business units and with external vendors or suppliers to define and document business processes and requirements for cybersecurity-related initiatives. The candidate will also support implementation activities, which may include project coordination, solution design, development support, communications, testing, and training delivery.Work products will require the use of Microsoft Office tools to capture and present project information, including Excel (pivot tables and charts), SharePoint Lists, Visio diagrams (e.g., swim lanes, organizational charts), and related documentation tools.ServicesThe successful candidate will provide end-to-end business analysis services, including but not limited to:Define and document business problems, opportunities, risks, and primary objectives.Lead stakeholder discussions to identify, interpret, and analyze requirements using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.Evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.Document detailed business requirements and high-level system design using standard project methodologies; coordinate requirement walk-throughs and approvals with business and technology stakeholders.Document current (as-is) business processes using standard business process notation and diagramming methods.Design and document future (to-be) business processes.Prepare and present decision documentation to key stakeholders.Assist program and project managers in developing and maintaining project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), risk and issue logs, and related planning materials.Support status reporting activities.Support and/or lead development of Test Strategy and Test Plans.Develop use case scenarios and evolve them into test scripts.Develop and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix and ensure solutions are delivered according to specifications.Support and/or lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT).Work with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve conflicts related to functionality, features, and specifications.Prepare change management materials, including Service Desk knowledge base updates, revised support processes, and operational handover documentation.Support and/or lead delivery of training to end-users, system administrators, and analysts.Facilitate business analysisrelated communications and maintain required documentation.DeliverablesStandard business analysis deliverables may include (but are not limited to):Documentation and summary of current workloads relative to IT infrastructure capacity (on-premises and cloud).Mapping workloads against hardware lifecycles, accounting for growth and resiliency requirements.RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).Use case documents or user stories.Current and future state process diagrams.Fit-gap analysis documentation.RACI matrices.Decision analysis documentation.Test execution planning and support materials.Deployment planning support.Change management planning and support documentation.Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Operations and/or user guides.End-user training materials.Meeting agendas, minutes, and action items.Program status reports.Knowledge & ExperienceTo be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate:Experience in Cybersecurity and IT Resiliency.7+ years of business analysis experience in a complex enterprise environment.Bachelors degree and formal business analyst training.Business systems analysis experience supporting System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) initiatives.Good understanding of data center technologies, on-premises networking, and cloud infrastructure.Experience conducting current-state assessments.Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.Experience leading teams of business analysts and subject matter experts.Proven ability to gather, analyze, and consolidate information from multiple sources.Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders to identify and document requirements.Ability to collaborate with technical teams and translate business requirements into detailed system specifications.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Visio and Project.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.Note; this is an opportunity with a Microserve client.
