Flynn Group of Companies is currently looking for a Health & Safety Specialistto support our Victoria Branch (6836 Kirkpatrick Crescent, Saanichton, BC V8M 1Z9), reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor. A Day In The Life Manage the safety requirements of operational construction sites and equipment Conduct safety evaluations of Flynn project sites using documentation and standardized processes Ensure that sub-contractors adhere to required safety standards in keeping with Flynn policy/legislation Identifying potential risks and safety hazards during a project with involvement throughout the job life cycle (estimate, pre-mobilization, construction and autopsy) Performing accident and incident investigations as per the companys health and safety programs Maintain a conducive working relationship with all management, superintendents, project managers through education and giving practical on site application options Assisting with the communication and implementation of the companys claims management and return to work programs Be proactive in recommending changes to improve the safety programs Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs Conducting new worker safety orientations and other required training programs as needed Report writing and maintaining of all required documentation Attending and supporting monthly safety committee meetings as required Frequent visits to job sites and various areas of Vancouver Island and surrounding areas when required What We Offer Competitive wages and benefits RRSP matching Extended Health & Dental benefits Paid time off Free parking Great environment where our motto is Flynn Family Winning Together!
