Job Types: Full-time, Part-Time, Casual Pay: $43 to $50 Available Benefits Dental care Employee assistance program Extended health care Vision care Pension Plan Qualifications Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) Experience providing services in community-based settings and collaborating within interdisciplinary teams Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Valid Ontario drivers license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to clients home within the service area Hanen certification is considered an asset Experience delivering services via virtual/telepractice platforms is an asset Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset Requirements Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle. Duties And Responsibilities Newcomers to the North may be eligible for the Northern Health Programs Rehabilitation Professionals Incentive Grant of up to $5,000 per year for up to three years. The Speech Language Pathologist at Canadian Shield Health Care Services participates in: Establishing meaningful patient-centered goals Assessing patients cognitive, psychosocial, and physical abilities Assessing and adapting environments and activities to maximize function Recommending and implementing treatments to work toward the patients goals Discharge & transition planning to facilitate maintaining a patients best quality of life after leaving the facility. Additional Responsibilities May Include Supervision of support staff. Participating in maintaining a safe and nurturing care environment. Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement through participating in communities of practice, ongoing education, clinical & operational improvement opportunities and supporting the knowledge and skill development of other staff and formal learners. The primary goal of our Speech Language Pathologist is to ensure our patients are receiving high quality, patient-centered care that aligns with our values of Strength, Dignity and Empowerment.
